Fines for false alarms proposed in Washington, Ill.

Repeat offenders could pay up to $750 under a new proposal


Following several false calls related to alarm maintenance issues, the fire chief in Washington, Ill., is proposing that the town implement fines for repeated false alarms over a 12-month period, according to a report published by pjstar.com.

Under the proposal, fines for false alarms would range from $75 for a third offense up to $750 for the 10th violation of the ordinance.
