Canon U.S.A. breaks ground on North and South American headquarters

New facility expected to eventually create 750 new jobs


Canon U.S.A., a division of Canon Inc. which manufactures CCTV solutions, announced Monday that it has broken ground on a new North and South American headquarters facility in Melville, N.Y.

According to a statement issued by the company, the new facility will serve as one of the company’s three worldwide headquarters along with locations in Japan and the UK. The building also features several eco-friendly elements including a design that utilizes natural lighting, as well as energy-efficient equipment and building materials.

The new five-story, 700,000-square-foot facility will also eventually create 750 new jobs as the company moves from its current location in Lake Success, N.Y. Canon U.S.A. currently employees 1,200 people in Lake Success.
