Oct. 16, 2009 -- IP video standards development group ONVIF (the Open Network Video Interface Forum) announced this week that it has hit a significant milestone in vendor partnerships with more than 1oo member companies involved.

The organization hit the 103-member mark this week, totaling 12 full members, 13 contributing members and 78 user members. Recent additions to the organization include full members Canon and IDIS, and contributing member companies Dallmeier, General Electric, Genetec, Hitachi, Industrial Technology Research Institute, ITX, Nice, Optelecom-NKF, PMC-Sierra, Sanyo and Webgate.

The organization has also seen the roll-out of quite a few ONVIF-conforming products from Axis Communications (a founding member) and Lilin (which has 11 conforming products). The organization publishes a list of conforming products on its website Onvif.org.

The organization also announced election results that put Siemens on the steering committee, and which saw Panasonic re-elected for the steering and technical committees, and Cisco re-elected for the technical committee. Open seats on the technical services and communication committee have been filled by Anixter (technical services) and Hikvison (communication).

The organization will hit its official one-year anniversary this November.
