The Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association (CEDIA) and HDMI Licensing announced Monday that they have agreed to work together to help clarify and simplify HDMI integration.
According to a statement, the organizations will host a series of educational training seminars to increase CEDIA members' knowledge of HDMI technology.
According to a recent survey of CEDIA membership, 66 percent of participants said that 90-to-100-percent of their installations include HDMI technology. Many survey participants also reported having various issues with the technology.
"The results of this survey point to the reason why CEDIA leadership is committed to working with HDMI Licensing and CEDIA members to improve these issues," said CEDIA CEO Utz Baldwin. "Both organizations see the value of building reciprocal training programs and technical references to help CEDIA members succeed in their HDMI installations. We are eager to work with the HDMI organization and provide CEDIA members with a viable solution to help their businesses."
