Former NSA director to provide cyber security keynote at ISC West

Lieutenant General Kenneth A. Minihan to speak on April 2

Reed Exhibitions, the company will hosts the ISC West tradeshow in Las Vegas, Nevada, announced this morning that Lieutenant General Kenneth A. Minihan will be delivering a keynote on cyber security issues during the tradeshow.

Minihan is the former director of the National Security Agency and the Defense Intelligence Agency and will be discussing the development of the Comprehensive National Cybersecurity Initiative (CNCI). His presentation will serve as the keynote address for the Public Security & Safety Expo at ISC West, and will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2009, at 11 am in Sands Expo Center Room 602.

Minihan's presentation comes after reports that there were 13,000 cybersecurity incidents in 2008 affecting U.S. government agencies, and that incursions on U.S. military networks were up 55 percent. The CNCI is a government initiative to reduce these cyber threats, and Minihan will be speaking on this initiative and providing analysis of President Obama's vision of U.S. cyber-security.
