$12M facility to include four new operating room suites

LEBANON, Pa. --

The Lebanon VA Medical Center held a groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday for a new ambulatory surgery center.

The $12 million facility will include four new operating room suites, two new endoscopy procedure suites, surgery recovery areas and a new emergency department entrance.

"The current surgical unit that we have now is about 12 years old. This replaces that surgical platform, so it allows us to modernize and expand our surgical techniques," Robert Callahan Jr., director of the Lebanon VA Medical Center, said.

The surgery center is part of an ongoing expansion project at the VA.
