MIAMI --

Police are searching for a man driving a white SUV who opened fire on employees at a Miami Taco Bell Tuesday morning, shooting one woman in the leg.

According to police, at about 3:40 a.m., the man drove up to the drive-through window of the Taco Bell located at 630 N.E. 79th St. and became irate when the manager told him the restaurant closed at 2 a.m.

Miami police said the man then waited in front of the Taco Bell. When employees began to leave the restaurant, he started shooting, police said.

“It is incredible that someone would get so upset that they would shoot at these individuals for not serving them breakfast or whatever food it was,” said Miami Detective Willie Moreno.

One employee, a woman in her 20s, was shot in the leg. She was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital in good condition and is expected to be OK.

The shooter, who police said is a black man in his 20s, is still on the loose. He fled in a white SUV, possibly a Nissan Armada.

Detectives released a surveillance image Tuesday afternoon of the vehicle believed to be driven by the shooter.

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami police at 305-603-6350 or Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS (8477).
