Black Box purchases Quanta Systems

Acquisition expected to help company in federal market



Communications firm Black Box announced Monday that it has come to terms on an agreement to purchase Maryland-based Quanta Systems, which manufacturers and installs electronic security systems for government and commercial applications.

According to a statement issued by Black Box regarding the acquisition, Quanta’s annual revenues are about $12 million. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Jeff Murray, senior vice president and GM of Black Box, said that he expects the acquisition to help the company in the federal market.
