Checkpoint Systems launches online training program

'Checkpoint Academy' designed to help retailers improve their loss prevention programs


Checkpoint Systems, a provider of retail security solutions, announced last week that it has launched a new online training academy to help retailers improve their in-store loss prevention programs.

According to a statement issued by the company, the new "Checkpoint Academy" uses a combination of audio and visual training aids to educate employees and help management identify what areas need to improved upon in terms of enhancing their loss prevention efforts.

"To achieve the greatest return on any retail loss prevention investment, it is essential to maximize its use to its full potential," said Farrokh Abadi, worldwide president, shrink management solutions for Checkpoint Systems. "Checkpoint Academy was developed to complement the face-to-face training that we offer retailers and help ensure that store staff continues to employ best practices regarding knowledge and use of store loss prevention systems. It also lets store associates know that management is serious about security and empowers them to handle situations in accordance with store guidelines."

The first training module available from the academy, "Maintaining EAS Effectiveness," promotes electronic article surveillance (EAS) compliance and how it can reduce theft and improve the shopping experience for the customer.
