ONVIF to host open reception at ASIS

Event to provide attendees with latest information on IP standards group’s initiatives

The Open Network Video Interface Forum (ONVIF), which is dedicated to promoting interoperability standards for IP video and access devices, announced this week that it will be hosting an open reception at ASIS 2010 next month in Dallas, Texas.

During the event, attendees will have the opportunity to hear about the group’s latest initiatives, as well as get a report on what took place at the ONVIF Plugfest that is scheduled to take place a week prior to ASIS 2010 at the Security Essen tradeshow in Germany.

"The extended scope of ONVIF to also cover access control systems was announced in April this year," said Jonas Andersson, of Axis Communications and chairman of ONVIF’s steering committee. "New working groups have been formed and they are now up and running, specifying the requirements for this extended standard."

The networking breakfast will take place on Thursday, Oct. 14 at 8:30 a.m. in room C143 of the Dallas Convention Center. For more information about ONVIF, visit www.onvif.org.
