USCG International Port Security Program held jointly with '08 show

At the ASIS conference and tradeshow held this past September in Atlanta, the association partnered with the U.S. Coast Guard for training. At that conference, the Coast Guard held its own annual conference, the International Port Security Program.

That program from the USCG focused on training and enrollment of new members. According to a statement issued from ASIS International, the USCG International Port Security Program "seeks to improve maritime security worldwide by engaging in bilateral and multilateral discussions with maritime trading nations throughout the world." The association reported that some 70 members of the port program attended educational sessions offered as part of the annual ASIS seminars.

The indoctrination of new members to the International Port Security Program was held simultaneously, and followed by two days of the aforementioned sessions.
