ESA to host 'YSP West'

Event to provide young security professionals with a behind the scenes look at several facilities

Continuing with its Young Security Professionals initiative, the Electronic Security Association announced this week that will be hosting a special event for attendees in this demographic next month at ISC West in Las Vegas.

Dubbed "YSP West," the event caters to individuals between the ages of 25 and 45 who are managers or above at an alarm, integration or monitoring firm.

According to a statement, attendees will have the opportunity to tour several facilities during the event, which will be held on April 6. Among the tours scheduled include a look at custom electronics design and installation company Eagle Sentry, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas hotel and casino and the PBR Rock Bar & Grill.

"ESA started Young Security Professionals to engage and cultivate the next generation of security industry leaders. Being a YSP allows up-and-coming managers and owners a chance to network with one another and make valuable contacts that we’ll use for the remainder of our careers," said Kerry Egan of Security Partners and YSP vice chairperson. "At our YSP West event in Las Vegas, there is an educational component which includes a tour of a local member company and the back-of-the-house casino tour and we finish up the day with networking happy hour. Through our events, we hope to recruit more YSPs and encourage everyone in the group to get actively involved."

Both ESA regular members and non-members can register for $99 and $149 respectively. The registration fee includes lunch, transportation, the tours and a happy hour. For more information, contact Jaclyn Sion at 888-447-1689 or via email at JaclynS@alarm.org.
