NFPA upgrades its codes subscription service

Fire professionals looking to stay up-to-date on fire codes will be glad to hear that the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) has made some updates to its National Fire Codes Subscription Service (NFCSS). The NFCSS is NFPA's subscription service to access 300 current and archived NFPA codes, including such common ones as NFPA 72, NFPA 101, and NFPA 13. The service is offered both as an online, instant-access tool and as a printed subscription.

New for the NFCSS is the ability to download PDFs of fire code information, immediate updating of online information of code changes, and the ability for users to add notes to and bookmark certain codes for their repeated use. The system also will now allow users to email content (with sections highlighted) to non-subscribers, who then have temporary 48-hour access to that specific information. Finally, the NFCSS allows users to print chapters or sections with all of the tables, figures and supporting graphics included.

The NFPA has posted an online video demonstrating the NFCSS.
