Police say alcohol likely played a factor

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. --

A man accused of threatening to blow up a cruise ship at Port Canaveral bonded out of jail Sunday night.

Ibrahim Zarou, 31, was expected to make a first appearance Monday morning. He's accused of making a bogus bomb threat on the Carnival Sensation on Sunday morning.

The ship was on its way back from the Bahamas when the U.S. Coast Guard got the call and ordered the ship to stay four miles off shore.

The ship arrived back at dock four hours late. Investigators blame the fiasco on alcohol, saying Zarou had been drinking since 3:00pm Saturday.

“This guy was highly-intoxicated and probably played a factor in the statement he made,” said Chris Evanson, U.S. Coast Guard.

Zarou is charged with filing a false report about planting a bomb.
