SRA Awarded $21M Contract by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

Providing Informatics Program Development, Management and Support Services

FAIRFAX, Va. , Feb. 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SRA International, Inc. (NYSE: SRX), a leading provider of technology and strategic consulting services and solutions to government organizations and commercial clients, today announced it has won a three-year contract with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to provide program development, management and support for the National Center for Public Health Informatics (NCPHI). The contract, which involves a series of 12 task areas, has an estimated value of $21 million if all options are exercised.

Public health informatics is the systematic application of information technology (IT) and computer sciences to public health practice, research and learning. NCPHI uses public health informatics to ensure that public health information is disseminated within CDC and other public health organizations, as appropriate, to support key public health goals.

Under this contract, to be led by SRA Director of Public Health Informatics Wayne Myers , SRA will provide NCPHI technical, program and management services across a broad range of initiatives. The goal of the initiatives - which include program and performance management, enterprise architecture, information resource governance, communications and collaboration, applied research and development, and public health program development and management - is to enhance the availability of health data and the adoption of public health information standards across the public health community.
