Smith & Wesson offers identity protection

Service to be provided to customers free for a year

Smith & Wesson Security Services announced this week that it is now offering identity theft protection through its dealers.

According Wayne Wahrsager, the company’s CEO, Smith & Wesson has entered into a co-marketing agreement with identity protection firm Identity Protection Corp. to provide the service, a $99 value, to customers free for a year. After the one year period is up, customers can choose to renew the service if they wish at a discounted rate.

"All of our dealers will be provided with one-year free identity theft protection certificates to offer to all their customers and potential customers," Wahrsager said. "In these times, (identity theft protection) goes nice with the electronic and physical security that the alarm system provides."
