The Physical Security Interoperability Alliance, a group dedicated to promoting standards among IP-enabled technology, announced Wednesday that Dave Fowler has been named as the organization’s new chairman.
Fowler, who is senior vice president of product development and marketing for PSIM software developer VidSys, succeeds Robert Hile, who served as chairman of the PSIA for two consecutive terms. According to a statement, as chairman, Fowler will work as an industry advocate for interoperability standards and develop organizational strategies in conjunction with the PSIA board.
"I’m honored that I have been selected to become the next chairman of PSIA and I am eager to follow through on the existing strategies the Board has set in motion," Fowler said in the statement. "PSIA develops the industry’s broadest range of specifications for IP-enabled security devices and now, we are focused on accelerating the adoption and innovation of our specifications among leading market vendors."
