Stanley CSS buys Pyramid Alarm

Stanley Convergent Security Solutions (Stanley CSS) announced today that it has purchased the alarm business of Pyramid Alarm Inc., a provider of intrusion/burglar alarm systems based out of Lansing, Ill. The companies did not disclose the purchase price.

Pyramid has been in business since 1978, focusing on installing, servicing and monitoring fire alarms, intrusion alarms, access control systems and video surveillance, and the firm primarily operated in Illinois and Indiana. Stanley CSS issued a statement indicating that the current customers of Pyramid Alarm will be serviced by Stanley's existing office in Downers Grove, Ill.

"The acquisition of Pyramid Alarm continues our commitment to growing our electronic security platform strategically in the United States," said Tony Byerly, president and COO of Stanley CSS North America and United Kingdom Direct. "We are excited to add more density to our customer base in the Illinois and Indiana markets. The addition of Pyramid Alarm creates additional efficiencies for our existing operations in those markets and solidifies our relationship with local law enforcement and municipalities across Chicagoland."
