Aug. 12, 2010 -- K2 Commercial Hardware has been rebranded as a Stanley product following the completion of the merger of Black & Decker with The Stanley Works (now Stanley Black & Decker) this past March.
According to Adam Matusz, the senior product manager for K2 Commercial Hardware, K2's business has been transitioned into Stanley Security Solutions' business. The product line from K2 Commercial Hardware includes locksets, auxiliary deadbolts, exit devices, exit trim and door closers designed for commercial buildings.
"With this transition we are taking the opportunity to leverage the significant strength of the Stanley brand in the commercial hardware markets by rebranding K2 with the endorsement of the Stanley name," wrote Matusz in a public announcement to customers.
Matusz added that "the K2 brand has gained significant strength in the market over the past three years, and this change in endorser branding will help advance the K2 business into the future."
