The multi-billion dollar M2M marketplace is expected to ship 95 million modules in 2013, according to market research firm ABI Research. Speaking at M2M United 2008, ABI Research's Senior Analyst Sam Lucero recognized the growing importance of FOTA for the M2M market. The licensing agreement between Red Bend and SIMCom provides seamless management of mobile devices and M2M modules. vCurrent Mobile provides a cost-effective, fast and reliable method of wirelessly reflashing the firmware on mobile devices to ensure that software is up-to-date with the latest enhancements and features. vCurrent Mobile will add new capabilities to SIMCom's M2M products, including eliminating manual field software updates, enabling cost-efficient remote application maintenance and improving the reliability and lifespan of M2M-enabled products.
