Company provides authorities with towers, cameras and sensors to secure event

ICx Technologies announced this week that it recently provided the U.S. Park Police and National Park Service with a variety of solutions to help keep the public safe during the inauguration of President-elect Barack Obama.

Among the solutions provided by ICx to authorities included two DefendIR thermal cameras, two Illuminator day/low-light CCD cameras, four IBAC biological sensors, and four SkyWatch towers, which are used for surveillance and crowd control at special events.

"As a D.C.-based company, we were proud to be able to assist with providing security for this critical event," ICx CEO Hans Kobler said in a prepared statement of ICx.
