The ASIS Foundation announced Friday that it has partnered with the Brownyard Group to re-establish the W.H. Brownyard Meritorious Award.
According to a statement issued by the organization, the award recognizes security officers who "perform a heroic or meritorious act in the face of adversity."
Nominations for the award, which will be presented at ASIS 2010 in October, are open through Aug. 31.
"Security officers play a critical role in the protection of life and property, and in many instances serve as an organization’s first line of defense," said ASIS Foundation President David C. Davis. "The ASIS Foundation is honored to formally acknowledge professionals who have demonstrated outstanding commitment and skills in the performance of their duties with this award and to support their future enrichment."
