SAIC Awarded Contract by The Department of Energy, National Nuclear Security Administration

Company to Provide National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Support Services

SAN DIEGO and MCLEAN, Va. , Jan. 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (NYSE: SAI) today announced it has been awarded a prime contract by The Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE/NNSA) to provide National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) support services. The multiple award, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract has a two year base period of performance, three one-year options and a total contract ceiling of $200 million for all awardees. Work will be performed primarily in Washington, DC , and at DOE/NNSA locations as required.

The National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) requires federal agencies to integrate environmental values into their decision making processes by considering the environmental impacts of their proposed actions and reasonable alternatives to those actions. Under this contract, SAIC will help DOE/NNSA meet this requirement by providing technical analysis and preparation of NEPA documentation including environmental impact statements, environmental assessments, supplement analysis, and other special studies. SAIC will also evaluate chemical, nuclear, and biological impacts; and support public outreach programs, comment response management, wetland/floodplain assessments, and cultural resource studies as required.
