Mace expands into DIY video security products

Mace Security International today expanded from professional security products into the do-it-yourself/DIY space. The company launched Mace DIY Security with a video surveillance camera and recording solution designed to be installed by the purchaser. (See press release about the new product line.)

Dennis Raefield, the CEO and President of Mace Security International, said that the launch of DIY products by no means meant an exit to the professionally installed space.

"The launch of a focused DIY (Do It Yourself) product line continues our segmentation of the security market," Raefield said. "We believe some consumers want to install their own solutions, and we now offer a low cost, plug and play solution for that targeted group. We will continue to offer higher level products to our other channels, and make sure dealers always have wholesale access to all Mace products."

For the professional security industry delivered through the security dealer and integrator channel, Mace offers a number of video and alarm products, as well as professional security monitoring from the Mace CSSS central station, a CSAA Five Diamond monitoring center.
