CitySync, a provider of license plate recognition systems, announced Friday that it has been acquired by Minnesota-based Image Sensing Systems (ISS).
According to a statement, ISS, which specializes in intelligent transportation systems (ITS), has a "strong foothold" in the U.S. and is expanding steadily into European and Asian markets.
Frank Thomson, CEO of CitySync, said the deal would provide his company with growth opportunities through ISS' international ITS channels.
"CitySync is a highly respected supplier of ANPR systems in Europe and North America," Ken Aubrey, CEO of ISS said in a statement. "CitySync’s technology is a great fit for ISS and we also value CitySync’s employee base which will give us important critical mass in the EMEA marketplace."
