CACI Opens Research and Development Facility to Support U.S. Army Ft. Monmouth BRAC Transition

Dec. 22, 2008

Providing Continuity of Operations for the Army's Move From Ft. Monmouth to Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland

ARLINGTON, Va. , Dec. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CACI International Inc (NYSE: CAI) announced that it has opened the CACI Research and Development Labs (CRaDL), a new facility on the U.S. Army's Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md. , to continue CACI's ongoing support for the Army's Ft. Monmouth, N.J. operations while those operations transition to Aberdeen as mandated by the Defense Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) Commission. CACI supports a number of activities at Ft. Monmouth that provide the Army with critical engineering and support services in C4ISR (command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance), and the CRaDL provides significant tools and resources to support the seamless and uninterrupted transition of these services.

Under BRAC law, Ft. Monmouth is scheduled to close in September 2011 . While the Army transitions have begun, most of the movement of operations and people is expected to occur between 2010-2011. CACI's new CRaDL will facilitate the early relocation of Army C4ISR programs and employees to the Aberdeen location.

Besides supporting the BRAC transition, the CRaDL will house CACI's C4ISR research and development program. The R&D program is a strategic initiative designed to support the Army's emerging technology objectives, with an emphasis on wireless technology. CACI expects significant growth in its Aberdeen workforce over the next four years.

CACI also plans to continue expanding its business in New Jersey , where it supports the Department of Homeland Security, state and local governments, and other Army clients, and expects to extend its services and offerings to additional new clients.

The company remains one of the leading prime contractors in the value of task orders awarded on the Army's Strategic Services Sourcing (S3) contract vehicle, which supports many Ft. Monmouth activities. Since S3's award in March 2006 , CACI has won nearly one third of all awarded S3 task orders, for a total of more than $1.5 billion in awards. The company believes these awards will continue at a strong, sustained pace while S3 clients also transition under BRAC.

"We are firmly dedicated to supporting the Army's C4ISR mission, expanding to meet relocated missions at Aberdeen Proving Ground , and maintaining the same high level of service to our remaining New Jersey missions," said Bill Fairl , CACI President of U.S. Operations. "Our New Jersey team has extensive experience from a 1995 BRAC move, and through the CACI Research and Development Labs, is applying lessons learned to help the Army manage its current transition without disrupting vital mission support. CACI has operated an extremely successful business in New Jersey since 1995, and we expect to continue our growth both there and in Aberdeen while providing high-quality service for our clients and challenging careers for our employees."

According to CACI President and CEO Paul Cofoni , "CACI has an outstanding record of serving clients whenever and wherever needed. It is our mission. With Ft. Monmouth's move to Aberdeen Proving Ground over the next few years, we will show the strength of our commitment to this mission. And with our innovative CACI tools and resources, we will help the government preserve one of its most important knowledge bases - the intellectual capital of the men and women of Ft. Monmouth , who are dedicated to serving our warfighters and supporting our nation's most important goals."
