Providing Continuity of Operations for the Army's Move From Ft. Monmouth to Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland
ARLINGTON, Va. , Dec. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CACI International Inc (NYSE: CAI) announced that it has opened the CACI Research and Development Labs (CRaDL), a new facility on the U.S. Army's Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md. , to continue CACI's ongoing support for the Army's Ft. Monmouth, N.J. operations while those operations transition to Aberdeen as mandated by the Defense Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) Commission. CACI supports a number of activities at Ft. Monmouth that provide the Army with critical engineering and support services in C4ISR (command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance), and the CRaDL provides significant tools and resources to support the seamless and uninterrupted transition of these services.
Under BRAC law, Ft. Monmouth is scheduled to close in September 2011 . While the Army transitions have begun, most of the movement of operations and people is expected to occur between 2010-2011. CACI's new CRaDL will facilitate the early relocation of Army C4ISR programs and employees to the Aberdeen location.
Besides supporting the BRAC transition, the CRaDL will house CACI's C4ISR research and development program. The R&D program is a strategic initiative designed to support the Army's emerging technology objectives, with an emphasis on wireless technology. CACI expects significant growth in its Aberdeen workforce over the next four years.
CACI also plans to continue expanding its business in New Jersey , where it supports the Department of Homeland Security, state and local governments, and other Army clients, and expects to extend its services and offerings to additional new clients.
