COO says expansion reflects commitment to customer support

S2 Security Corporation, a Massachusetts firm which productes IP-based physical security systems which can integrate access control, alarm monitoring, video, environmental monitoring and VoIP, announced this week that it has launched a new support center. The new support center is designed to provide technical assistance for the company's 7,000 existing installations around the world. It is collocated with the company's existing offices, and the expansion also allows more room for the company's growing engineering team, by taking over the former location of the S2 support center.

Michael Welles, the chief operating officer at S2, said the move was part of the company's commitment to excellent support.

"We aim to deliver nothing less than the finest customer support in the industry," said Welles. "We've gotten great reviews so far, and this new facility will help us continue on that path."

In 2008, the company rolled out the third generation of its security management platforms. The company's product line includes the S2 NetBox and the S2 Enterprise systems.

S2 saw significant growth in 2008, with its third generation IP-based security management platforms expanding their reach to both large enterprise customers and smaller offices in 50 countries. The S2 headquarters was opened in December 2007 and united all groups within the company in a single custom-built facility. The space formerly occupied by S2's support organization will now be occupied by the engineering team which saw major expansion over this past year.
