ISC events promoter revamps event websites

Reed Exhibitions, the company that produces the annual ISC West and ISC East security tradeshows in Las Vegas and New York, is revamping the websites of those two events: iscwest.com and isceast.com.

The content from the company's previous web portal for its events, ISC365.com, will be merged into the "west" and "east" websites. According to Ed Nichols, vice president for the ISC events, the goal was to take the existing educational content that had been hosted on ISC365 and put it on the actual event websites. The move will also see the ISC365 product and company guide move to the individual events websites, where it will tie in with show planning for in-booth visits on the show floors of these two events.

The educational component, which is currently available on the ISC West website, features webinars, podcasts and whitepapers, and the future will see the ISC Education portion of the sites feature online courses and training for such certifications as the Physical Security Network Associate (PSNA), Physical Security Network Field Technician (PSNFT), NICET Video Security Systems Level 1 Certification (CCTV training), Structured Wiring and Termination Technician Certification (SWATT), and NICET Fire Level 1 Certification Prep. Reed Exhibitions also lists training courses for OSHA Outreach Training and Hazardous Waste Training, Electrical, and ISO/OHS.

According to Nichols, over 150 online courses are currently available on the sites.

ISC West 2010 occurs March 23-26, 2010, in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the Sands Expo and Convention Center. ISC East 2010 will occur on Nov. 3-4, 2010, at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City. Both events are sponsored by the Security Industry Association.
