Just under two years ago, ADS Security purchased SecurNet, an Atlanta-based provider of security systems for commercial and residential properties on Feb. 15, 2008. The acquisition brought aboard roughly 4,500 accounts to the Nashville-based company.
Now the company has renamed and rebranded SecurNet as ADS Security; the transition was handled by Paul Dyson, who owned SecurNet before the sale to ADS and who stayed aboard as vice president of general manager. SecurNet is now ADS' Atlanta division.
According to ADS, the transition gives SecurNet's customers access to new services like mobile messaging alerts, wireless monitoring, and, beginning in 2010, electronic billing via the ADS customer web portal.
ADS Security is said to handle roughly 70,000 commercial, industrial and residential accounts, and provides UL-listed monitoring. The firm not only installs and services fire and burglar alarms, but also works with video surveillance and electronic access control systems.
