NICE Systems, an Israel-based provider of physical security information management (PSIM) solutions, has agreed to purchase the security management assets of Orsus, maker of the Situator security management software platform, for $22 million.
According to a statement issued by NICE, the acquisition will allow the company to integrate its PSIM solutions with Orsus’ security management software, which will thereby enable the company to offer a comprehensive security management portfolio and enhance its leadership position in the market. The deal, which is expected to close at the end of the fourth quarter of 2009, should also garner several million dollars worth of non-GAAP revenues for NICE in 2010.
“Joining NICE, a global security solutions provider powerhouse, is a great opportunity for Orsus,” said Orsus CEO Gil Weiser. “Together, we’ll expand our global outreach to support the security needs of customers across a wide range of vertical markets.”
Zeevi Bregman, president and CEO of NICE Systems, said the acquisition meshes with the company’s growth strategy and that they remain committed to investing in and further developing their security business.
“The acquisition of Orsus serves as an important milestone in the execution of our strategy, and will fortify our strategic focus on leveraging NICE’s core competence in capturing, managing and analyzing massive amounts of unstructured data, to accelerate the success of our security and enterprise businesses,” he said.
