Home security products company Visonic Americas has announced changes in its senior management team, most significantly with the naming of a new president.
The company, which is best known for its wireless home security components, announced Thursday, May 27, 2010, that former vice president of sales Mark Ingram will be taking over as president for the Americas. Former president Bill Lyon will be staying on with the firm to direct corporate business development; he lead the firm since 2001. One of the business development areas Lyon is said to be tasked with is PERS (personal emergency response system) technology.
Ingram called Lyon an "outstanding leader" of the company and said that Lyon had been his mentor at Visonic. Ingram's role in the security industry began as an alarm systems installer in Connecticut in 1973. He later worked in ADT's sales division, and then served as a manufacturer's representative for C&K Systems in the 1980s. The 1990s found Ingram at security products distributor ADI, where he served as vice president of national accounts from 2003 until he joined Visonic in 2009 as vice president of North American sales.
