Stanley purchases two more Sonitrol franchises

Stanley Convergent Security Solutions is continuing to purchase available Sonitrol franchises. The latest two franchises to be purchased by Stanley both are Sonitrol of Oklahoma City and Sonitrol of Tulsa; both were founded in the 1970s. Stanley did not disclose the purchase price of the franchises, but said that the purchases largely acquired commercial accounts, in addition to some government and residential accounts.

Stanley said it has approximately 52,000 customers nationally using Sonitrol. The Sonitrol technology allows central station operators to “listen in” in order to verify alarms for police dispatch. The service, which is somewhat more expensive than traditional, non-audio alarm monitoring, is more often used by commercial accounts than residential accounts.

As part of the acquisitions, the customers of Sonitrol of Oklahoma City and Sonitrol of Tulsa will be turned over to existing Stanley CSS offices in those cities. Rob Cass, a prior owner of the franchises, will be working for Stanley CSS as district general manager in those locations.
