A lawsuit filed by security solutions manufacturer Paradox Security Systems, which claimed that certain legacy DSC alarm panels infringed upon the company’s patent, has been dismissed by a federal court in Texas. A similar lawsuit brought against ADT, a distributor and installer of the aforementioned panels, has also been dismissed.
The court found that based on the evidence, no reasonable jury would have found that DSC had infringed upon the company’s asserted patent, according to a statement issued by the company.
“We are extremely pleased with this decision. DSC prides itself on the innovation and quality of its products as well as our ethical approach to conducting business,” company President Rob Guttentag said of the decision. “We had always maintained that Paradox’s patents had serious deficiencies and that our products did not infringe.”
