Systems integrators works with bay area transit authority to update security infrastructure

Adesta, a systems integrator based in Omaha, Neb., announced this week that it has been awarded a $5.9 million contract to help the San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART) upgrade its security infrastructure.

According to statement issued by the company, the project, which is expected to be completed by early 2010, includes the implementation of physical security solutions at BART train stations, as well as the installation of surveillance cameras that will be connected to the transit authority’s existing communications structure.

The company indicated that the upgrades will be done during hours that won’t interrupt BART’s normal, day-to-day transit operations.
