Hotel to honor rates originally quoted for Galveston rooms

The wake of destruction left by Hurricane Ike throughout the gulf coast region has forced the Texas Burglar and Fire Alarm Association to move next month’s 22nd annual convention from Galveston, Texas, to the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

In a statement issued by the association, the convention will now take place at the Wyndham Dallas/Fort Worth Airport North Hotel and Convention Center on Oct. 23 to Oct. 25.

For those who had already booked rooms in Galveston, the hotel will honor their originally quoted room rates and will try to accommodate all convention goers.

Those in attendance can expect to take part in a forum and workshop hosted by TBFAA President Chris Russell and False Alarm Reduction Association President Jim Cogswell. The National Electronic Security Alliance will also hold its regularly scheduled Board of Directors meeting.
