RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil- U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff says the United States is prepared to offer Brazil security advice on hosting the 2014 World Cup and other events.
Chertoff said Monday he has invited officials from Rio de Janeiro state to visit the U.S., where they can benefit from American experience with large-scale athletic events.
The visiting Chertoff toured Rio de Janeiro's ports and met with Gov. Sergio Cabral.
Chertoff also plans to visit Brazil's capital for meetings with the ministers of defense and justice and other security officials.
