Ground broken on 40,000-s.f. building this week

Pulte Homes is building a new home . . . for itself.

The company broke ground Monday on a new 40,000-square-foot office building on the northeast corner of North Oracle and East Hardy roads. The new digs will be finished near theof this year.

Pulte will use about 26,000 square feet to house 135 employees, including administrators and title officers.

Here's the rundown on the work crew: Pacificbridge Investments is developer, building architect is SBBL Architecture & Planning and Paragon Architects, the contractor is Barker-Morrissey Contracting Inc., and Picor Commercial Real Estate Services is handling leasing.

Lou Sherman, an owner, declined to give a estimate on the cost of construction.
