More camera and bollards, but improvements on fencing and at emergency ops center

Oct. 20--The Tucson Airport Authority board awarded a $3.6 million contract on Friday to Millennium 3 Technologies LLC, which has offices in Phoenix and Las Vegas, to upgrade security at Tucson International Airport.

The upgrades, called for in the Airport Authority's master plan, include installation of security bollards, or pillars, in front of the terminal; upgraded security fencing; improvements in the airport's emergency operations center; and additional security-monitoring cameras.

The project will be funded by federal and state grants.
