Plans call for convering 111,000-s.f. warehouse space into high-tech work environment

Insurance.com, the largest online auto insurance agency in the United States, has signed a lease to occupy the former Nestle building located at 29000 Aurora Road, Solon Ohio 44139. Plans call for converting the existing 111,493 square feet office/warehouse space into a high-tech work environment that will include state-of-the-art conference rooms, wireless internet access, on-site exercise facility and advanced office space for Insurance.com's 250 employees.

Christopher Semarjian, Managing Member of Aurora Commerce LLC is the owner/developer of the project for Insurance.com's new headquarters facility. Vocon Design, Inc. is the architect and space planner for the project. DAS Construction Company has been selected as the general contractor.

"Solon, Ohio is definitely the place we want to be," reported Dave Roush, CEO of Insurance.com. "We needed room to grow and we were looking at various properties throughout the Northeast Ohio region, as well as in other states. This building was very attractive because of the location and size."

Attractive incentives from both the City of Solon and the State of Ohio to remain and expand in the local area were influential in making the final decision.

Occupying the majority of the building, Insurance.com will use approximately 80,000 square feet of space. Moving into the building will allow the company, which currently occupies a building on Solon Road in Solon Ohio to expand its operations.

"The company, which now occupies 41,000 square feet, will have approximately twice the space in the new Insurance.com facility, along with significant parking. This space will accommodate our continued growth." said Roush.

"We intend to add an additional 15 licensed insurance agents each month, until we reach around 400 employees total," explained Roush. "This will would be double the number of employees we had two years ago."

Currently, Insurance.com is seeking new insurance agents, along with a variety of other positions, including opportunities in IT.

"We pay for training and licensing for new agents," confirmed Roush, "and offer many competitive benefits. We'd be interested in talking to currently licensed agents or anyone who is interested in this career path."

The hiring drive, and the move to the larger location, is a reaction to increased demand for online comparative auto insurance rates, and a clear indication that consumers are more comfortable with shopping online for financial products such as insurance.

Work on the new location will be completed toward the end of 2007, Insurance.com officials said.
