Merchants Bank to build brach office in Mobile

Merchants Bank, based in Jackson, Ala., paid $378,350 for more than an acre on the northeast corner of Cody and Grelot roads, and plans to build a branch office, according to Marietta Urquhart of Heggeman Realty, who represented the seller, Arlington Properties. Jeremy Milling of White-Spunner & Associates worked for the buyer.

The commercial corner of 7 S. Church St. and DeLaMare Avenue in Fairhope has sold to an investor for $1.04 million, according to Mary Cane and Joe Courtney of Courtney & Morris, who represented the sellers. The property is leased to several tenants, including Mary Ann's Deli, a hair salon and an art studio.

A Roly Poly/TCBY, featuring rolled sandwiches and frozen yogurt, will open on U.S. 98 and Whispering Pines Drive in Whispering Pines Station in Daphne, according to Ronnie Johnson of The Mitchell Company. Orange Beach investors have leased 2,000 square feet in the retail center next to CVS Pharmacy and plan to open the store in October.

Hoven Oil Co. paid $325,000 for 1 acre at the corner of University and Zeigler boulevards and plans to build a 3,000-square-foot gas station and convenience store, according to court records. Justin Smith of Saad & Vallas Realty Group represented the seller.

Vision Bank paid $280,000 for almost an acre off Alabama 59 and Krchak Lane near Robertsdale High School and plans to start construction on a branch office, according to developer Stacey Ryals, who handled the transaction.

McDowell Knight Roedder & Sledge has leased the 13th floor of the RSA Battle House Tower on Water Street and plans to move the law office to 20,000-square-feet of new space in the spring, according to Grubb & Ellis/Peebles & Cameron, who represented the attorneys.

Goodwill Easter Seals has leased 16,600 square feet at Halls Mill Road Business Center on Halls Mill Road behind Mobile Lumber & Millwork for warehouse space and retail sales, according to Matt Cummings of Cummings & Associates.

Two businesses have leased space at 5256 U.S. 90 in Tillman's Corner: Wireless Freedom, an Alltel Wireless agent, 1,200 square feet, and Acceptance Loan, 800 square feet, according to Matt Cummings of Cummings & Associates.

Master Millworks has leased 2,400 square feet at Magnolia Square Shopping Center on U.S. 98 in Daphne, according to Richard Inge of Yance, Inge & Associates, an owner of the center. The firm specializes in architectural millwork for residential and commercial construction.

Absolute Lipo Dissolve has leased 2,400 square feet at 6001 Grelot Road and should open at the end of October, according to Angela McArthur of Prudential & Cooper & Co.'s commercial division. The new business offers a non-surgical treatment to dissolve body fat, according to the company.

Crawford & Co., an insurance adjustment firm, has leased 1,530 square feet in Regions Bank building at 851 East I-65 Service Road S., according to Bob Cooper of Prudential Cooper's commercial division, who worked for the tenant. Jason Scott of John Toomey & Co. represented the landlord.

Coldwell Banker Charles Hayes Real Estate has leased 3,500 square feet at 315 U.S. 43 N. in Saraland and plans to open an office in mid-November, according to Don Jones, a broker at the agency's Schillinger Road office.
