Research program will develop tools for enabling researchers to understand future of security market

CHELMSFORD, Mass. - Axis Communications, the global leader in the network video market, announced today that the company will sponsor a four-year security informatics research program at the Lund University School of Economics and Management (LUSEM) in Lund, Sweden. Axis will sponsor the program in conjunction with ASSA ABLOY and Securitas Systems to gain a better understanding of future customer requirements, new business models for open systems, and the management of organization networks and alliances.

The program will develop methodologies and tools that will enable analysts and researchers to better understand the future of the security market and services. This research will help security companies to grow by providing insight on the direction of the security industry, including technology development and global customer demand.

"The Lund University research team will help companies such as Axis better understand the convergence of IT and security technology," said Fredrik Nilsson, general manager of Axis Communications. "Axis is proud to be sponsoring such a forward-looking research program - along with two other market leading companies - in the security business."

LUSEM is one of the largest and most prestigious institutions in northern Europe for international education and research on management, economics and informatics. Lund University is a large research-oriented university with close connections to the European corporate world. Associate professors Thomas Kalling and Konrad Tollmar will head the security informatics research program for LUSEM.
