School adopts company's Instant Alert technology, plus video surveillance

Honeywell's technology, the company announced today, is helping protect a Georgia school. The company's "Instant Alert" system is being used in Ware County, and is a web-based system that would allow the school district to contract parents in the case of emergency.

The Instant Alert system has the ability to notify thousands of people within minutes, and can be used for both emergency situations or simple school news, or even a notice that a bus is running late. The system can broadcast to either emails, PDAs, phones and cell phones, and can be tailored to different lists..

The county school district will also be using Digital Video Manager system for video surveillance management, and will be managing the school's video and HVAC using the Honeywell Enterprise Buildings Integrator system to converge that data.
