Identix Lands Biometrics Contract with Orange County Sheriff

Company earns $1.1M contract to deliver its full-hand TouchPrint scanners

Identix continues to pull in the business.

The company, which recently announced that it would be merging with Viisage, has landed a $1.1 million contract with the Orange County, Calif.'s Sheriff's Department to provide an FBI-certified biometrics solution at the departments offices.

The system will uses Identix' Full Hand TouchPrint High Definition 3800 scan system, which captures the hand 1,000 pixels per inch (ppi). The technology records the hand in a single scan pass, and uses a cylindrical roller, unlike the common flat-panel scans that are available in the market.
