Trade publication's 'Readers' Choice Awards' names Network Multifamily Security Corporation as best

LAWRENCE, Kan. - For the second straight year, Network Multifamily Security Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Protection One, Inc., was voted the nation's Best Provider of Apartment Security Systems by readers of Apartment Finance Today magazine.

The magazine announced the results of the annual Readers' Choice Awards in its November/December issue. Network Multifamily, the nation's largest and oldest provider of multifamily alarm system amenities, was also voted best in its field for 2004.

"We are pleased that our Network Multifamily subsidiary has earned this recognition again," said Richard Ginsburg, Protection One's President and Chief Executive Officer. "Network's reputation for quality service and dominance in the multifamily security industry is something we plan to build upon in 2006 through the introduction of several exciting new products and services targeted to the multifamily sector."

Mandy Vallowe, Vice President of Sales for Network Multifamily said, "We're proud to be ranked first by industry professionals. We have been a long-time leader in providing alarm amenities for market rate properties. We embrace that leadership role by continuing to explore new housing markets -- military, student, senior, mid and high rise -- and develop new and effective technologies. We are driven to give the multifamily community the best and most affordable alarm amenity programs possible."

Apartment residents' most requested amenity continues to be an in-unit monitored alarm system. Network Multifamily has fulfilled that request by developing state-of-the-art systems and services, which include a UL-listed central control station that monitors every alarm with callback verification.

"We are also very excited to offer our customers a total security solution package, from an in-unit monitored alarm system, to cameras, gates and controlled access," Vallowe added. "It's these kinds of industry-unique alarm amenities that have given our customers an added competitive edge, realizing improved financial performance through increased occupancy, faster lease-up, higher rents and reduced turnover."

Network Multifamily has been providing in-unit monitored alarm amenities exclusively to the multifamily industry since 1982 and serves more than 315,000 apartment homes nationwide. For more information about Network Multifamily, visit http://www.networkmultifamily.com/ .
