IEI's eMerge platform supports Dedicated Micros DVRs and DV-IP server

Video surveillance company Dedicated Micros is teaming up with security management and access control company International Electronics Inc. (IEI).

The two companies have announced that IEI's eMerge browser-based security management platform will support Dedicated Micros' DV-IP server and the company's DS2 NetVu-connected DVRs.

The new technology partnership allows the video recording to integrate with event detection, allowing for motion detected by the NetVu-connected DVRs to create alarm notifications via eMerge, and also allowing for alarms created by the eMerge to call for video recording via the NetVu-connected DVRs or the DV-IP server.

IEI's CEO John Waldstein called the integrated video recording "the most significant new feature" that is new to the eMerge management platform.

The eMerge system allows for alarm event reports and direct video viewing through the browser, which also includes camera PTZ controls using a simple web-based interface.
