Woman accused of simple assault after shoplifting bust became violent

LATROBE, Pa. -- A Westmoreland County Wal-Mart loss prevention officer told police he was attacked after trying to stop a suspected shoplifter.

The officer said Tabitha Sink, 23, tried to steal 18 CDs from the store. She responded by scratching him so hard, he started to bleed, investigators said.

Police have charged the woman from Mount Pleasant with simple assault after the alleged incident last week.
