Burglary attempt appears to be futile, security doing an inventory to determine whether ID badges were taken

MIAMI -- Someone tried to break into the offices at Miami International Airport where employee identification badges are made, but may have left empty handed, officials said.

Someone shattered the exterior door and an interior door to the airport's security and identification section Wednesday evening, said Detective Randy Rossman, a spokesman for the Miami-Dade County police.

"Nothing appears to be disturbed or taken," Rossman said. "They are doing an inventory."

Police are working with the Miami Aviation Authority on the investigation.
