Garda World Security Selected to Manage Screening Services at 18 B.C. Airports

MONTREAL (CP) - Garda World Security Corp. has been chosen by the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority to manage security screening services for 18 B.C. airports, the company said Friday.

The two-year agreement beginning April 1 will require Garda (TSX:GW) to add 350 to its workforce.

The security company has also renewed its two-year contract to manage the security screening at Montreal's Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport, Garda said in a release.

"As a Canadian corporation, we are extremely proud to have the opportunity to contribute to the security of our country,'' said Garda chief executive Stephan Cretier.

Garda World employs almost 8,000 people across Canada in security and cash-handling businesses.
