Bombardier Breaks Ground on New Facility at Love Field in Dallas

100,000-s.f. facility to be operational by Q3 2006

DALLAS - Bombardier has started construction of a new factory owned service center at Love Field in Dallas, Texas. The nearly 100,000-square-foot (9,290-sq.-m) facility will increase service space by 60 per cent and will accommodate Bombardier Learjet, Challenger and Global customer aircraft.

Bombardier Aircraft Services director Randy Mengel and regional vice-president Daniel Lafrance were joined at the groundbreaking by Dallas airport officials, Kenneth Gwyn, director of aviation, Tommy Poole, property manager and David Simmons, senior coordinator for economic development, business management and retention.

The new facility will be operational in the third quarter of 2006 and will feature a 52,500-square-foot (4,877-sq.-m) hangar. An additional 45,000 square feet (4,180-sq.-m) of back-shops, support and office space is also planned. Once completed, the new facility will house approximately 125-full-time employees with projected growth reaching up to 197 employees over the next five years.
