Spain's MetroValencia to deploy networked solution across multiple facilities

The networked video technology of Melville, N.Y.-based Verint Systems will be used to help secure Valencia, Spain's metropolitan rail system.

The company announced today that Verint's Networked Video Solution will be used for the city's commuter rail to organize and network video for a variety of the MetroValencia rail system.

The rail system, which is operated by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana (FGV), serves approximately 60 million passengers each year and is comprised of four rail lines within the city. The Verint system chosen was the company's Mobile Networked Video Solution, which will handle video from within the rail cars on select portions of the commuter system.

Vossloh AG, a rail manufacturer working with FGV, is providing the Verint system as part of its services package for MetroValencia.

In a statement announcing the agreement, Verint's CEO Dan Bodner, said the company was "pleased to welcome Spain's MetroValencia to our growing base of mass transit authorities."
